What Is Smart Packaging Optimizer?
Smart Packaging Optimizer is a test environment within the ClickShip platform that lets you simulate the shipping rates offered on your storefront at any time.
This new feature, exclusive to ClickShip, takes the Smart Packaging presets you create and uses a test environment to show you how they will affect your Real-Time Rates, so you can be confident that your customers are getting their orders in the best packaging, at the best price possible.
What If I Don’t Use Real-Time Rates?
We know that not every ClickShip user uses integrations that currently offer Real-Time Rates at Checkout, and we want you to know that the Smart Packaging Optimizer is a useful tool for you, too!
Let’s say you’re preparing to carry a new product or offer a new product bundle on your online storefront or marketplace. Using the Smart Packaging Optimizer, you can simulate how a variety of package dimensions will affect your shipping rates not just before you book your shipments, but before you even order the physical packaging!
Smart Packaging Optimizer removes all the guesswork and potential surprises from your courier shipping strategy, letting you plan and budget with more accuracy, and less stress.
How to Use Smart Packaging Optimizer
To begin, log into ClickShip. For the best results, we recommend setting up your package and product dimensions first, and integrating a marketplace that offers Real-Time Rates.
Navigate to the Smart Packaging Dashboard under Boxes and Pallets in the side menu to get started.
Select one of your integrated stores, and select any number of products from that store’s product list, or select an existing order placed on that storefront via an Order ID.
Once you’ve selected your products, ClickShip will show you the most optimized packaging options available, including pallets!
Select your optimized packaging of choice, then enter the Ship To and Ship From addresses, and watch as the Smart Packaging Optimizer shows you simulated rates from ClickShip’s carrier partners!
Not only can you confidently verify your product and packaging configurations for your storefronts, but you can even book shipments directly by selecting your carrier and service level of choice and clicking the Create Shipment button!
